The pace of monsoon has taken a severe form in a large part of the country. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a serious warning in its latest All India Weather Summary. Within the next two to three days, monsoon will become fully active in the entire country covering the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. Due to this strong weather system, heavy rainfall is about to begin in many states of the country including North India, due to which there is a possibility of disruption of life. Danger of landslides in the mountains, alert of extremely heavy rains in UP-Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, nature’s havoc can be seen from the mountains to the plains: Hilly States: Torrential rains are expected in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next few days, due to which the risk of landslides on sensitive mountain roads has increased considerably. Plains: Warning of heavy rain has been issued in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and the country’s capital Delhi. Uttar Pradesh: Difficulties are also going to increase for the residents of UP; The Meteorological Department has issued a high alert of extremely heavy rain for different days in many districts of Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Storm: There is a possibility of stormy winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour and lightning in Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, severe form of monsoon will also be seen in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Danger of flash flood looms in Gujarat and North-East. The Meteorological Department has issued the most dangerous warning for the western and north-eastern parts of the country. The torrential rains are not going to stop throughout the week in Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra. Heavy rains with cyclonic winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 70 km per hour are expected in Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch. On the other hand, in eastern India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar may receive extremely heavy rains. The entire Northeast including Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram will receive continuous rain for the next few days. The most worrying thing is that due to the catchment area already being filled with water, IMD has expressed a big danger of flash flood in the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Uttarakhand and North-East. Distance from hilly and sensitive roads: Tourists visiting the valleys of Himachal, Uttarakhand and Kashmir should take special care and do not go towards areas prone to landslides or rock slides during heavy rains.
