More than 10 lakh new voters added to voter list before Nepal elections

More than 10 lakh new voters have been added to the voter list ahead of the upcoming general elections in Nepal. Election Commission Information Officer Suman Ghimire said that after the announcement of new elections, 10,16,754 new voters have been registered from across the country. In the last general elections held in the year 2022, there were a total of one crore 81 lakh 68 thousand registered voters. The new voter list will be published on December 27.

Election Commission Information Officer Suman Ghimire said that after the announcement of new elections, a total of 10,16,754 new voters have been registered from across the country.

He gave this information during a dialogue program organized at the Election Commission office in Kathmandu. According to the Commission, there were a total of 1 crore 81 lakh 68 thousand registered voters in the last general elections held in the year 2022. The final publication of the new voter list will be done on December 27.

Meanwhile, the number of political parties registered with the Election Commission to participate in the House of Representatives elections has also increased to 114, while 87 political parties had participated in the 2022 elections.
