Whereas 65 transformers got damaged due to rain and snowfall. In such a situation, many areas have been plunged into darkness.

Tourists are stranded

The special thing is that thousands of tourists reached Shimla and Manali to celebrate Christmas and New Year. On one hand, tourists are getting to see the sight of snowfall.

They are facing many problems. From Sisu and Koksar in Lahaul to Atal Tunnel Rohtang, 8500 tourists and 1500 tourists in Kufri were trapped in the snow, who were rescued after many hours of hard work.

Apart from this, the rescue operation continued throughout the night to save about 10 thousand tourists. The administration has banned the movement of tourist vehicles from Dhali in Shimla to Kufri and from Solanganala in Manali to Lahaul in view of the tourists stranded due to snowfall and rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, the state received 9.7 mm rainfall in Bhuntar, 9.4 mm in Rampur, 8.4 mm in Shimla, 8 mm in Bajaura, 7.2 mm in Seobag, 7 mm in Manali, 6 mm in Gohar, 5.4 mm in Mandi. And 5.4 mm in Mandi. Jubbarhatti received 3.8 mm rainfall. The department has predicted rain and snowfall in some parts of the state, especially Shimla, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
