In a statement, IndiGo said its network was ‘significantly disrupted’ over the past two days and apologized to customers. The airline has told DGCA that there will be no delay in flights from December 8 and it is expected that stable operations will be fully restored by February 10. The airline acknowledged that bad decisions and planning deficiencies had led to massive disruptions in implementing the Phase II of FDTL norms.

What is the situation at different airports of the country?
On December 5, 2025, 53 departure and 51 arrival flights, i.e. a total of 104 flights, were canceled at Mumbai Airport.
On December 5, 52 arrival flights and 50 departure flights were canceled at Bengaluru Airport.
43 arrival flights and 49 departure flights were canceled at Hyderabad Airport.
16 arrival and 16 departure flights were canceled at Pune airport between 12 midnight and 8 am on December 5.
On December 4, 5 arrival and 5 departure flights of IndiGo arrived late at Thiruvananthapuram Airport, while on December 5 so far 3 flights each are late and on the same day, 2 arrival and 2 departure flights have been cancelled.

Delhi Airport issued advisory
Delhi Airport issued a passenger advisory at 09:02 am saying, “Due to operational issues affecting some domestic services, flights are being delayed and cancelled. We advise passengers to check the status of their flights directly with their airlines before leaving for the airport.

What is the reason for cancellation?
According to the Director of Pune Airport, a total of 16 IndiGo arrival flights and 16 IndiGo departure flights were canceled between 00:00 to 08:00 on 5 December 2025. A Nagpur-Pune flight was diverted to Hyderabad due to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL). Parking bays remained congested as several IndiGo aircraft remained in the bays awaiting availability of operating crew. This limited bay availability and delayed subsequent arrival and departure flights of many other carriers.
