Lucknow, March 1. Amidst the current tense situation in Central Asia, the Yogi government is fully alert regarding the safety of 6,004 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh working in Israel. The state government has clarified that all the workers are safe and their well-being is being constantly monitored. All these workers are selected in the year 2024 through National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) and Israel’s government body Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA) and are working in various construction projects in Israel.

According to the security advisory issued by the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv, all Indian citizens have been advised to remain alert, follow the instructions of the local administration and avoid unnecessary movement. Principal Secretary, Labor and Employment Dr. M.K. Shanmuga Sundaram, India’s Ambassador to Israel J.P. Talked to Singh on phone. The Ambassador conveyed that the situation is under control and the Embassy is in touch with all the Indian workers. First Secretary Dr. Garika Tejeshwar also assured that safety shelters are available in most of the buildings and workers have been instructed to stay in safe places.

There are approximately 42,000 Indian nationals currently residing in Israel, including 6,004 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh.
