Mirzapur. A woman and her newborn baby died during delivery on Tuesday night in Mirzapur’s Divisional Hospital. After the incident, angry family members created a ruckus in the hospital premises. And accused the doctor of negligence and demanded action against the culprits.
The deceased was identified late last night as Durga Devi, a resident of Amghat in Kotwali area. According to her family members, she was admitted to the Divisional Hospital on Tuesday morning due to labor pain. During the treatment, all the medicines and injections prescribed by the doctors and health workers were made available on time.
Rajesh Kumar Bind, the husband of the deceased, alleged that if his wife’s condition was serious then the hospital administration should have been informed about it earlier so that she could be taken to a higher medical place for better treatment. He also alleged that after the death of the mother and the newborn, the hospital administration was talking about referring them to Varanasi, which is completely inappropriate.
After the incident, there was a tense situation in the hospital premises for a long time. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and pacified the family after understanding them. The police have taken the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem. The family members have conducted an impartial investigation of the entire matter and have demanded strict action against the guilty doctors and the concerned staff, while the police say that the matter is being investigated and further legal action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report and investigation.
