MP High Court’s decision on reservation dispute in promotion reserved, committee will be formed in every department

A big update has come out regarding the reservation issue in Madhya Pradesh promotion. On Tuesday, Jabalpur High Court (MP High Court Decision) heard the petitions challenging the new promotion policy of the government. During this, the state government gave clarification. The court also recorded the reply. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf have reserved the decision.

This matter is related to the controversies arising over the new promotion policy 2025 launched by the state government. Which has been challenged by SAPAKS (General, Backward and Minority Employees Organization). He has alleged that the guidelines of the Supreme Court were not followed in this policy. While the government rejected the allegations and claimed compliance with the rules.

Committee will be formed in every department

The state government has given clarification in the High Court that a committee should be formed for promotion in every department. Will ensure adherence to reservation rules and court guidelines. The government also said that those who have already been promoted in the reserved category will be counted in their category only. ST will get 20% reservation and SC will get 16% reservation.

Employees waiting for orders

This matter is pending in the High Court for the last 7 months. The first hearing was held on 7 July 2025. During this time, the state government had assured that no DPC would be held till the case was pending. After which the promotion process was stopped in the state. Which was directly seen on the career and administrative system of thousands of employees. Lakhs of employees and the government are waiting for the court order.
