MP News: Class 6 student removed from bus due to non-payment of fees, angry girl sits on strike, video goes viral

Bhopal: A unique and tense incident came to light in village Chunahjuri of Chicholi development block of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, which surprised the local people. Angered by not being allowed to board the private school bus, sixth class student Surabhi Yadav staged a protest on the road with her bag. Due to this, a crowd gathered at the spot and traffic in the village was disrupted. The uproar continued for several hours, after which Chicholi police reached the spot and after giving advice, removed everyone from the road.

Reason for not sitting in school bus

Chuna Hazuri resident Durgesh Yadav told that his daughter Surabhi Yadav has got admission in Guru Saheb Public School, Chicholi through RTE. Surbhi is studying in class 6, but the school bus was not taking her. Even on Saturday morning, other children sat in the bus, while Surbhi was refused to sit. Angered by this, Surabhi sat on strike in front of the bus.

Ruckus increased in the village

During the student’s protest, the people of the village also gathered and expressed their displeasure over the arbitrariness of the school management. The bus driver told that the school management has said that if the bus fare is not deposited then the student will not be allowed to board the bus. Due to this, parents will have to take their daughter to and from school themselves.

The student’s father Durgesh Yadav says that the school management neither gave him any prior notice nor asked him to deposit the bus fees. They allege that the school management is acting arbitrarily. The school has said that the fees are not being charged, but the bus fees have not been deposited for the last few years.

Administration response

On this matter, Chicholi BEO JP Prajapati said that he had no information about this incident. Meanwhile, the school bus driver has lodged a complaint at Bijadehi police station.

Case registered in police station

Bijadehi police station in-charge Ramkumar Meena said that this matter is related to bus fare. Based on the report of the bus driver, a case has been registered against the student’s father for stopping the bus and provoking the girl. Police said that the investigation of the matter is going on and a solution will be found by calling all the parties.
