MP News: High Court declared the election of Congress MLA Mukesh Malhotra invalid, now Ramniwas Rawat will be the new MLA.
Gwalior. Madhya Pradesh High Court has declared the election of Congress MLA Mukesh Malhotra from Vijaypur Assembly Seat void. Former minister Ram Niwas Rawat had filed the petition. In this petition, Mukesh Malhotra was accused of hiding information about criminal records in the election affidavit. During the hearing, the court considered irregularities in the election process and hiding of facts as correct.

Let us tell you that former minister Ram Niwas Rawat had filed the petition. In this petition, Mukesh Malhotra was accused of hiding information about criminal records in the election affidavit. It was said that in the nomination filed by Mukesh Malhotra during the by-election, information about his criminal cases was hidden. Malhotra had 6 criminal cases registered against him while he mentioned only 2 cases in his nomination. During the hearing, the court considered irregularities in the election process and hiding of facts as correct. Justice GS Ahluwalia of Gwalior Bench of the High Court gave the order declaring Malhotra’s election void. BJP candidate Ram Niwas Rawat has been declared MLA from Vijaypur after finishing second.
