According to The StandardKo said he first met Wong while filming a promotional video for her hair-care brand. At the time, she was raising a child as a single mother, and Ko said he was struck by her ability to balance running a business with parenthood.

Their relationship did not progress at first. However, when they later reconnected, the pair grew closer.

“Once I realized we truly clicked and understood each other, age and her past didn’t matter at all,” Ko said.

The couple married in late 2024 and welcomed their daughter Liona in January 2025. They later moved into a rented apartment in Shenzhen, where Ko said evenings spent on the balcony overlooking a nearby lake have become a cherished routine after their daughter goes to sleep.

The pair recently purchased a flat at One Beacon Hill in Hong Kong for HK$22.5 million (US$2.9 million), reportedly about 30% above bank valuation. Ko explained that the decision was based on long-term considerations rather than price.

“We’ve looked forever, and believe that this was the one,” he said, adding that the purchase was primarily intended to secure future educational opportunities for their daughter.

Wong described Ko as a thoughtful partner who frequently surprises her with romantic gestures, from bouquets of flowers to heart-shaped steaks, and marks milestones including their 100th day together, their daughter’s birthday and the end of her postpartum confinement.

“Whenever I lost my temper, he’d make me laugh again,” she said. “He’s so thoughtful.”

She added that the pressures they face remain largely private, pointing to Ko’s demanding schedule across entertainment projects, restaurant and fashion ventures, and multiple weekly live-streaming sessions.

Ko, now 42, emigrated to Toronto with his parents at the age of seven and returned to Hong Kong in 2004. After working as a model, he became the first winner of the Mr Hong Kong competition and subsequently signed with broadcaster TVB.

According to 8daysWong, 32, owns and operates four beauty salons in Hong Kong as the sole shareholder. Sources have estimated her net worth at HK$2.7 billion.
