According to a Cricbuzz report, MS Dhoni may miss the first two weeks of IPL 2026 as he is recovering from a calf injury. A statement issued by Chennai Super Kings on the morning of the first match of the season confirmed that Dhoni is undergoing rehabilitation (treatment) for a calf injury. In such a situation, the team may have to play without its star player in the initial part of the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings’ first match will be against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati. Dhoni, who will turn 45 this year, is one of the four wicketkeepers in the CSK squad. Apart from him, the team also includes Sanju Samson (who was traded from Rajasthan Royals), Karthik Sharma and Urvil Patel. With 278 matches, Dhoni is the player with the most matches in the history of IPL. Along with Sanju, any one of these two wicket keepers may get a chance.
