MS Dhoni stops Sakshi’s celebration over Jasprit Bumrah’s bump ball catch, clarifies it’s not out
MS Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, celebrated a catch on a bump ball during the India vs England second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. She started jumping, leaving her husband and other surprised. Dhoni clarified to her that it was not out and urged her to calm down. The incident happened in one of the overs bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, who was unplayable at the Wankhede Stadium.
Sakshi thought Bumrah had dismissed the batter when he caught the ball after England all-rounder Sam Curran played a defensive shot. The ball had bounced before it reached the pacer. Dhoni was clapping for Bumrah’s effort when he saw Sakshi’s celebration. He informed her that it was not out.
