MSK prasad wants this star to get picked for the ODI series against England

Taking into consideration the abilities shown by the young 21-year old all-rounder with the bat and ball in three T20 internationals and five Test matches so far, former India chief selector MSK Prasad has advocated for inducting him in India’s ODI squad as well. Next up, India will face England in a three-match ODI series next month and then head to play in the 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai.

According to MSK, he has really caught up into both Test and T20 games and his exceptional form and variety give him a good shot for selection for the ODIs as well.

“People say that ODIs are a perfect blend of Tests’ fortitude and T20’s fury. Nitish has shown to be a rare mix of creed and aggression-a pretty good performer among formats in his small yet effective international career. Having already grabbed few chances in T20s and Tests, Nitish’s exceptional form and versatility mean he’s a strong case for being in India’s upcoming ODI squad against England. His consistency and ability to be above the bar also make him a strong contender for the Champions Trophy squad,” he quoted in Times of India.

“Nitish is surely one of those talents who could be celebrated for breaking the jinx of cricket formats moving streams. With his performance in Australia, he has not merely cleared the test but has also declared himself as a future major player in Indian cricket.

Reddy made his Test debut for India against Australia on 22 November in Perth and has played in all five matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he has scored a total of 298 runs, including one century, apart from having dismissed five batters.

He praised Reddy’s knocks in the series down under and said, “Nitish shone in Australia. He has passed the acid test in Australia. Remarkable composure and skill-on top of that the new comer Yashasvi Jaiswal-could face one of the most fearsome pace attacks by world standards, with over a thousand wickets Among them, Nitish displayed solid technique, alongside an exceptional temperament, withstanding all the challenges thrown his way. His performance was extraordinary for someone who was going to Australia for the first time.”
