Obnews Desk: Famous Malayalam writer and filmmaker MT Vasudevan Nair passed away. Affectionately known as MT. He died on Wednesday at the age of 91. The literary giant breathed his last at Kozhikode's Baby Memorial Hospital after undergoing treatment for a heart attack for 11 days.
Despite initial reports of improvement on Tuesday, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death on Wednesday night. Born on July 15, 1933 in Cuddalore, MT Vasudevan Nair has left a unique legacy in literature and cinema. Known for his emotional portrayal of nostalgia and human emotions, MT's works include novels, short stories, screenplays, children's literature, travel writing and essays.

MT wrote iconic works of Malayalam cinema like the poignant classic Nirmalayam and directed six films. His contribution to screenwriting was unique, for which he received four National Awards and 11 Kerala State Awards.
