In a major move, billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries on Saturday announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Digital Health Ltd, is set to acquire a 45 percent stake in Health Alliance Group Inc — a US-based healthcare firm– for $10 million.

“The investment will empower Reliance Digital to develop a virtual diagnostic and care platform, expanding access to healthcare for underserved communities. The investment is not a related party transaction, and none of the company’s promoters/promoter groups/group companies are interested in the above transaction,” Reliance Industries said in regulatory filing,

The Mukesh Amban-led conglomerate said the “the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in around two weeks. No governmental or regulatory approvals are required for the above transaction.”

As per Reliance’s regulatory filing, HAGI is a healthcare company based in United States, incorporated in Delaware on December 21, 2023. The firm specialises in “technology-driven solutions for the underserved in the United States, India and worldwide, operating at the intersection of healthcare, information technology and innovation.”

Reliance launches JioTag Go

In related news, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio recently launched JioTag Go, India’s first smart tracker that can help you locate your misplaced/lost items by pinpointing their exact location.

In a statement, Reliance Jio said that its JioTag device is the first tracker launched in India which comes with support for Android OS.
