Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom provider known for its pocket-friendly tariff plans, has launched two new long-term validity plans to counter the growing competition from rival providers, particularly state-owned BSNL, which has witnessed a resurgence of late.
Jio’s new tariff plans are geared towards subscribers who prefer long-term validity along with unlimited high-speed 5G data to avoid the hassle of monthly recharges. We are talking about Jio’s Rs 3,999 and Rs 3,599 plan, both carrying a validity of 365 days and offering unlimited 5G data, unlimited voice calls to any network within India, free SMS, and more.
Jio Rs 3,599 Plan
Jio’s Rs 3,599 Plan carries a long-term validity of 365 days, offering 2.5GB daily high-speed 4G data along with unlimited 5G data in supported areas for users with 5G-compatible handsets. The plan also offers free unlimited voice calls to any network within the country, 100 free SMS daily, free nationwide roaming, along with access to Jio’s supplementary services such as JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema.
Jio Rs 3,999 Plan
The Rs 3,999 Plan also comes with a year-long validity and offers similar benefits akin to the Rs 3,599 Plan, but also a free subscription to FanCode via the JioTV app.
Apart from the above mentioned plans, Mukesh Ambani-led Jio has also launched the New Year Welcome Plan, offering free unlimited voice calls, SMS, 2.5GB of daily high-speed data bundled with unlimited 5G data for eligible users, 100 free daily SMS, and more for 200 days at just Rs 2025.
Additionally, Jio’s Rs 2025 New Year Welcome Plan comes bundled with coupons worth Rs 2150 which can be redeemed to avail discounts on shopping and travel on partner sites.
Mukesh Ambani’s new Jio recharge plans are aimed attracting attract users who shifted to BSNL in large numbers after mobile tariffs were raised by a significant margin earlier in July last year. According to reports, BSNL added over 55 million new users between July and August with Reliance Jio bearing the brunt of the losses, losing over 40 lakh users during the same period.
