Latest News: The people of Punjab are going to get a new year gift from the state government. The Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme will start with the new year itself. Registrants will start getting health cards from January 8. Under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, 6.5 million families in the state will benefit. In case of serious illness, they can be cured by getting treatment in government hospitals as well as around 2,000 listed hospitals.

They will also be able to get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh once a year. In Amritsar, around 120 teams of community service centers led by village sarpanches and city councilors will complete the registration process.

The Health Department has intensified its efforts to achieve this.

Aadhaar card must be linked with PAN card

Aadhaar card, voter card and biometrics are required for all family members to get health card. Aadhaar card of head of family must be linked with PAN card. This is because an OTP (one-time password) is sent during registration.

No need to apply for health card at any convenience center or online. CSC workers, through sarpanches and councillors, will conduct camps in villages and city wards to issue family cards.
