Mumbai police arrested the attacker of actor Saif Ali Khan on Friday after a long chase.
The attacker entered the actor’s home through the fire exit staircase with the likely intent to commit burglary and stayed there for hours, the Mumbai Police said on Thursday, hours after he was stabbed inside his home in the upscale Bandra area in Mumbai. The 54-year-old actor underwent surgery after a serious injury to the spinal cord; he is currently stable.

The intruder had fled the scene following a scuffle with Khan in the wee hours between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday. The police had questioned three staff members from the actor’s house.
In the afternoon, a forensic team from the Mumbai Police was seen leaving Saif’s apartment after collecting fingerprints. An FIR was registered at the Bandra police station.
