4 accused including the shooter who opened fire at Rohit Shetty’s house arrested, Mumbai Police gets success in Haryana, mastermind still absconding
Rohit Shetty House Firing Case: Mumbai Police has got a big success in the case of firing at the house of famous film director Rohit Shetty. Taking major action in the firing case outside Rohit Shetty’s Juhu house, Mumbai Police has arrested 4 accused including the shooter from Haryana. A total of 9 accused have been arrested so far in the case.
According to sources, STF unit Bahadurgarh of Haryana Police conducted this joint operation in collaboration with Mumbai Police. During this period 4 accused were arrested.
The arrested accused have been identified as Hrithik Yadav (resident of Bahabijouli, District Agra), Deepak (resident of Sector-45 Sadarpur, Noida), Sunny (resident of Bahabijouli, Agra) and Sonu (resident of Bahabijouli, Agra). According to the police, one of the accused is the main shooter, while the rest are said to be his helpers.
Mastermind still absconding
According to police sources, the mastermind of this entire conspiracy is said to be Shubham Lonkar, who is still absconding. Investigation has revealed that he may be linked to the gang of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. However, the police is investigating this angle in depth and is continuously conducting raids in search of the absconding accused.
The shooter absconded after the incident
It was told that there was firing outside Rohit Shetty’s house in the early hours of 1 February. After committing the crime the shooter had fled from the spot. After the incident, Mumbai Police found an abandoned scooter near a hotel in Vile Parle West, which was parked about two kilometers away from Shetty Tower. Initial investigation revealed that an attempt was made to destroy physical evidence from the scooter.
9 accused arrested so far, MCOCA imposed on first 5
Earlier in this case, the police had arrested 5 accused from Pune and surrounding areas. The names of these accused are Aditya Gayaki, Siddharth Yenpure, Samarth Pomaji, Swapnil Sakat and Asaram Fasale alias Babu (arms supplier). The police have taken strict action against these five accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). Officials say that these sections were imposed keeping in mind the aspects related to organized crime.
