Mumbai Prepares for Thrilling 3rd Test Between India and New Zealand

The Mumbai Cricket Association has announced that the ticket prices for the third Test of the India vs. New Zealand series, which is scheduled to take place here from November 1–5, would stay the same as they were previously.

The last Test match between India and New Zealand was place at the Wankhede Stadium in 2021. The hosts prevailed 372 runs to the Kiwis’ spinner Ajaz Patel, who made Test cricket history by being the third bowler to take all ten wickets in an innings.

According to reports, ticket prices for the Test three years ago were increased by 25% over the rates for the match played here in 2016. This means that a daily ticket now costs Rs 125 instead of Rs 100, and a five-day ticket costs Rs 375 instead of Rs 300.

During the Apex Council meeting, the MCA also resolved to hold a golden jubilee celebration on January 19, 2020, to mark the 50th anniversary of Wankhede Stadium, one of the most iconic cricket venues in the nation.

Among the other choices made at the meeting, the MCA decided to provide First-Class passes and travel reimbursements to all trainee players who were chosen for the off-season camp in the following categories: U-14, U-16, U-19 boys, and U-15, U-19, and U-23 senior women.

The MCA players will have access to a career expo that will include meet-and-greets with senior executives from a variety of corporate organizations and current and former Indian cricket players.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik stated, “The main goal of this event will be to recruit cricket players, giving players with career opportunities both within and outside of cricket.”

In a similar vein, an equipment fair for MCA players and associated clubs is scheduled, offering a venue for the players to buy equipment directly from manufacturers at the “best possible price.”

“MCA Affiliated Office Clubs competing in the Times Shield and MCA Corporate Trophy will have their match day expenses covered by MCA,” he declared.

In addition to providing an air-conditioned enclosure for MCA club secretaries at the Vithal Divecha Pavilion at Wankhede Stadium, the governing body would also provide financial support to school and college clubs as well as associated workplace clubs.

The Dr. HD Kanga League awards ceremony is scheduled for October 25, according to Naik.
