‘Mummy, take a look for the last time’ 23 year old daughter saved 169 Indians from the war, bid goodbye to her family before dying
Faridabad: 23-year-old pilot Deepika Adhana from Faridabad, Haryana showed amazing courage in war-like situations. During the tension between America-Israel and Iran, he safely returned 169 Indians from UAE to India in a special rescue flight of Air India Express. The most special thing about this flight was that there were only women in the entire team.
emotional farewell from family
When Deepika got the order to go to the war zone, the first thing she did was talk to her family. He said to mother and uncle, "Mom and uncle, take a look for the last time, I might not see you again." The family did not stop him, but gave him courage and inspired him to fulfill his responsibilities. This moment was very emotional for him, but he gave priority to duty.
suddenly received mission order
On March 6, at 10:15 am, Deepika suddenly received instructions to go to Ras Al Khaimah Airport. Earlier, one of her friends was supposed to go as a pilot, but she was selected two hours before the flight. She immediately got ready and left with the team.
The team included Captain Jaswinder Kaur, pilot Deepika and four women crew members. Everyone was worried because of the war, but there was confidence in the complete security arrangements.
Complete story of rescue mission
The flight took off from India and reached Ras Al Khaimah at around 2 pm. There was less crowd at the airport than usual, but no chaos. 169 Indian passengers were boarded in one hour. The flight left for Delhi at 3:30 pm. Contact with air traffic control was lost for some time en route, which caused some panic, but it was quickly rectified and the plane arrived safely.
Passengers’ relief and thanks
Relief was clearly visible on the faces of the passengers while landing at Delhi airport. Many people thanked the crew and said that because of them they were able to return home. Deepika is a resident of Tigaon, Faridabad. Father Yogesh Adhana is an architect, mother Babli is a housewife and brother works in the banking sector in Mumbai.
fulfilled grandfather’s dream
Deepika’s late grandfather Amrit Singh Adhana wanted her to become a pilot. To fulfill this dream he chose this path. Did his early studies from Tagore School, Ballabhgarh. Passed 12th in 2020, then studied from home during Corona.
Got commercial pilot license in 2021. Took 200 hours training from Falcon Aviation Academy, Madhya Pradesh in 2022. Type rated Airbus A320 from Greece and Istanbul in 2023. Joined Air India Express in September 2023.
