Alarm will sound if you fall asleep while driving, Music Road is amazing on Ganga Expressway, know the science behind it

Science Behind Music Road: A new initiative has been taken in India to reduce road accidents, so that the accidents are reduced and people can get safety on the road, but before knowing this work, it is important to know why so many accidents happen, then the main reason behind this is drowsy driving i.e. falling asleep while driving. This problem especially occurs in drivers traveling long distances due to fatigue and dozing, which sometimes proves fatal. In such a situation, to reduce this danger, a new technology has now been implemented on the Ganga Expressway, which is commonly called Music Road or Rumble Strips.

What is white line fever and why is it dangerous?

White Line Fever: You might be reading this name for the first time, but this is the reason for an accident on the road. By staring at the same road and white lines for a long time, the driver’s mind becomes dull and this condition is called White Line Fever. In this situation, the driver’s alertness reduces and he starts driving without paying attention. Due to which negligence many times major accidents occur.

Science of Road Music: How does it wake up the driver?

In such a situation, the government has constructed rumble strips or Music Road on the Ganga Expressway to reduce the accidents caused by white line fever. This type of road is based on scientific technology which works differently. In this technique, as soon as the tire of the vehicle hits these raised lines made on the sides of the road, vibrations and sound are produced. Which has such effect:

  • The sound and vibration directly send alert signals to the driver’s brain.
  • The body’s nervous system reacts immediately and sleep is disrupted.

With this technology, the task of waking up the driver is completed directly without any electronic device and because of the methods of the technology, it is called Music Road, and with the help of this technology in many different countries, a different kind of sound pattern is also produced due to which its name has become so famous.

AI surveillance: Every action will be monitored

To reduce accidents, not only Music Road has been used, but Artificial Intelligence based monitoring system has also been installed on the expressway. Which includes high-resolution cameras, with the help of which the system can immediately detect activities like abnormal driving, driving in the wrong direction or sudden braking. The work of having cameras is that as soon as any danger is seen, it sends an alert to the control room, so that the police and emergency team can take immediate action.

Air strip: Runway will be built in emergency

To make Ganga Expressway special as per the future, another feature has been added to it which is air strip. In which Indian Air Force aircraft can land here if needed. Besides, in times of natural disaster or military need, this facility will also speed up relief and rescue operations so that loss of life and property can be avoided.

New chapter of road safety in India

Now there has been a change in the thinking of people regarding road safety in India and the biggest example of this is the new technologies implemented on the Ganga Expressway. After watching other countries, India has also taken a big step towards road safety by adopting scientific technology like Music Road to deal with the problem of drunken driving.
