Amroha. These days religious and social activities are intense in Hasanpur of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, the 81-day ‘Gavishta’ (cow protection crusade) Yatra of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj reached here, in which Samajwadi Party MLA Kamal Akhtar from Kanth assembly constituency of Moradabad district also arrived. During this, he not only took the blessings of Shankaracharya, but also fired political arrows at the Modi government at the Centre. MLA Kamal Akhtar said in a very harsh tone that since the independence of the country, there has never been so much atrocities on cows as has been seen during the last 10 years.

Cow protection journey of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda in Hasanpur

In this grand program organized on the holy land of Hasanpur, one of the supreme religious leaders of Sanatan Dharma, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj gave a very deep message regarding cow protection, Indian culture and social awareness. Expressing concern over the condition of cows in the country, Pujya Shankaracharya called upon the society to be aware. It is being told that the main objective of this 81-day yatra is to give the status of mother cow to the country and ensure her safety.

On this occasion, not only a huge crowd of general public gathered to listen to the thoughts of Shankaracharya, but Samajwadi Party leaders and hundreds of workers were also present there. During the programme, the safety, respect and provision of fodder and water for mother cows were widely discussed. According to the local people, the arrival of revered Shankaracharya ji and his guidance in the history of Hasanpur is a matter of great fortune for the people of the area.

Most atrocities on cow in last 10 years: Kamal Akhtar

While on one hand religion and culture were being discussed from the stage of Shankaracharya, on the other hand the attitude of SP MLA Kamal Akhtar also created a political stir in this religious event. He directly attacked the last 10 years of governance from the stage. Kamal Akhtar said that the BJP government only does politics in the name of cows, whereas in reality the condition of cows on the ground has become worse. He alleged that such plight of cattle had never been seen in post-independence history.

New political debate on cow protection

In fact, the issue of protection of stray animals and cattle always remains a hot topic in Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, a Muslim SP MLA arriving at Shankaracharya’s program and supporting the cow protection movement and cornering the government is setting a new narrative in the politics of the state. The crowd present at the program listened to this statement of Kamal Akhtar very attentively.

This religious and social event has made it clear that the issue of cow protection is not just about any one section, but is related to the entire society. Now it remains to be seen what reaction comes from the ruling party on this sharp attack by the SP MLA.
