Sensational murder of Muslim teacher in AMU campus, ‘Now you will recognize me’ fired bullets into the head saying
AMU Teacher Danish Rao Murder: The campus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh was shaken by the sound of bullets on Wednesday night. Danish Rao, a computer science teacher at the university’s ABK Union High School, was murdered in public. This incident has raised serious question marks on the security of the campus and the law and order of the state.
The hair-raising inside story of the incident: Between 8:45 and 9:00 pm on Wednesday night, 45-year-old teacher Danish Rao had gone out for an evening walk in the library canteen area with his two colleagues – teacher Imran and a local businessman Golu. According to eyewitnesses, when he was walking on the strip between the library and Kennedy Hall, two masked miscreants riding on a scooter reached there. The attackers threatened him with a pistol.
During the incident, Danish was left a few steps behind his companions, taking advantage of which the shooters surrounded him. One attacker said in a very scary tone just before firing the bullet, “You don’t know me yet, now you will.” Immediately after this, two bullets were fired in Danish’s head. He was immediately taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where doctors declared him dead.
Who was Danish Rao?
Decades old and deep connection with AMU Danish Rao was not only a teacher, but he and his family had a very old and deep connection with Aligarh Muslim University. Danish himself was an alumnus of AMU and was teaching computers at ABK School for the last 11 years (since 2015). His family has been running the &8216;Amir Nisha Makhan Wali Kothi&8217; Lives near. Danish’s mother was a teacher at AMU and his father was also an employee of the university. Presently his brother is also serving as a teacher in the engineering department of AMU. Not only this, Danish also had political influence; He was the son-in-law of Dr. Mohammad Ullah Chaudhary, former Congress MLA from Thakurdwara assembly seat of Moradabad.
Questions raised on security amid CM’s security claims
The massacre has also become politically sensitive as the incident occurred just hours after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly about better law and order and a safe environment in the state. The Chief Minister had said in the House that today every person is feeling safe and due to this security investment is coming. However, this murder within a high-profile campus like AMU has exposed the security claims. AMU Proctor Mohammad Wasim Ali confirmed the incident and called it very sad.

6 teams formed, police still empty handed
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun himself inspected the spot and met the victim’s family. He confirmed that six special police teams have been formed to nab the killers. The police are currently scanning the CCTV footage of the library and surrounding areas to identify the masked miscreants and their scooter. The police is investigating the case from every aspect, including the possibility of old enmity or any mutual dispute.
