Muzaffarpur Girls Home Case: CBI seeks detailed report from district administration seeking justice, compensation and rehabilitation
In the cases related to the Muzaffarpur Girls Home case, the Central Investigation Department (CBI) has sought information from the district administration to know the current status of the process related to justice, compensation and rehabilitation of the victims. Or the Assistant District Magistrate (DM) has been asked to submit a detailed report.
According to preliminary information, till now 49 victims have been given prescribed compensation. Also, the CBI has sought information about what progress has been made in matters related to rehabilitation, education, security and government assistance to the victims. Further action and review will be taken based on the reports received.
This is one of the most talked about and sensitive cases in the country, for many years the investigation and hearing of the case is under the supervision of various courts and investigative agencies. Along with the court process, CBI is trying to ensure whether the victims got the benefit of rehabilitation and government assistance in time.
The reports sought from the district administration are likely to include detailed information about compensation, rehabilitation scheme, education, medical facilities, security and other government assistance given to the victims. It will also be reviewed to what extent the instructions of the court and concerned authorities have been followed.
According to legal experts, in such cases mere education of the guilty is not enough, proper rehabilitation of the victim, mental health support, education and social rehabilitation are considered important components of the justice process.
Social workers are of the opinion that it is necessary to review the rehabilitation plans from time to time in sensitive cases, so that the petitioners can ensure that the victims are actually getting all the rights and facilities they are entitled to as per the law.
The process of preparing the report from the administrative officers is underway. After this report, with strict consideration of CBI, if any error or negligence is found at any level, further action can be taken as per the relevant rules.
At present, the purpose of CBI’s Magavileya report is to evaluate whether all the facilities related to justice, compensation and rehabilitation have been effectively provided to the victims of the girl’s home case. Or the complete picture will become clear after the final status report in the context and subsequent authorized action.
