Neurotoxic venom of cobra and the danger of winter
According to experts, snakes like cobra are extremely dangerous because they contain neurotoxic poison in their body. Even one bite of a snake is enough to kill a person. In the cold season, when the temperature outside becomes very low, these reptiles turn to homes in search of warmth. Cobras often hide among piles of wood, straw, bricks and stones or in piles of rotten leaves collected in the garden. In Mithali’s case too, the snake had made the warmth of the helmet its home to escape the cold.

What to do to avoid snakes? Expert advice
This incident reminds us that caution is the best protection. Just as even a small hole can sink a huge ship, similarly a small unknown place hidden in a helmet or shoes can become the destination of death. Sapera experts and wildlife experts have issued some important safety instructions for the public so that such incidents can be avoided:
- Take care of cleanliness: Do not allow junk, old tires or bricks and stones to accumulate in the courtyard or balcony of your house, as these are ideal places for snakes to hide.
- Fill the cracks: Immediately fill the cracks in the walls of the house and the empty spaces around the pipes with cement.
- Check before wearing: Before wearing things like shoes, socks or helmet, dust them thoroughly and check them.
- Disposal of leaves: If there are trees near the house, do not let the fallen leaves rot in one place.
