World Champions shine at Naman Awards 2026, BCCI and players celebrate victory with five trophies

Naman Awards 2026: The prestigious Naman Awards 2026 held in New Delhi saw the celebration of the wonderful achievements of Indian cricket. On this special occasion, BCCI honored India’s five World Cup winning teams. By giving mementos to the players of these teams on behalf of the board, their historic success was appreciated and the golden era of Indian cricket was celebrated.

In the last few years, India has performed well in ICC tournaments at different levels and has won many big titles. To honor these achievements, five World Cup winning teams were honored at the Naman Awards 2026. These included the Indian teams that won the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The players and officials present at the ceremony celebrated these historic victories.

Junior teams showed strength

Indian junior teams have also performed brilliantly in recent years. India’s Under-19 women’s team won the title by defeating South Africa in the final of the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 played under the leadership of captain Nikki Prasad. The men’s Under-19 team brought glory to the country by winning the Under-19 World Cup 2026 under the leadership of captain Ayush Mhatre. The achievements of these young players were also specially appreciated in this ceremony.

Historic victory of senior teams

Indian senior teams also performed brilliantly in ICC tournaments and won many big titles. The men’s team won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After this, the women’s team created history by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 under the leadership of captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Recently, the Indian men’s team won the title of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where India won the T20 World Cup for the third time by defeating New Zealand in the final. These consecutive successes have shown the strength and depth of Indian cricket.

Veterans got special honor

In the Naman Awards 2026, BCCI honored three great players of Indian cricket with Colonel C.K. Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award. These include Rahul Dravid, Mithali Raj and Roger Binny. Indian Test and ODI team captain Shubman Gill was given the Best International Men’s Cricketer award for the 2024-25 season. Star batsman Smriti Mandhana received this honor in the women’s category. The event became a memorable platform to honor the achievements of Indian cricket.
