Name of Salman Khan’s film ‘Battle of Galwan’ changed, know by which name and on which day it will be released.
New Delhi: Salman Khan’s most talked about film of 2026 ‘Battle of Galwan’ will now come with a new name. The makers have changed the title of the film to ‘Mathrubhoomi: May War Rest in Peace’. Salman himself shared a new powerful poster on social media, in which this new name is written. This change is much discussed among the fans.
Special reason for changing name
Initially, the title ‘Battle of Galwan’ made it seem that the film is only the story of the Galwan Valley clash of 2020, but apart from the war, the film also shows the personal lives of Indian soldiers, their struggles and the feelings of their families.
Therefore, the makers chose a name that gives the message of patriotism and peace. The word ‘Motherland’ arouses love and enthusiasm for the country, while ‘May War Rest in Peace’ expresses the wish for end of war and peace.

Controversy arose in China
This month, Chinese media had raised objections to the film. He said that the facts have been wrongly depicted in the film and an attempt has been made to incite anti-China sentiments. After this controversy came the decision to change the name, which seems to have been taken to make the film more balanced and emotional.
Change in release date
The film was earlier scheduled to release on 17 April 2026. Some songs and teasers were also released for this, but after the news of Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ releasing on April 10, the release of Salman’s film was postponed. Now the new release date is yet to be announced, but it will come only in 2026.

Salman Khan is in the lead role in the film. Chitrangada Singh will also be seen with him. This film is made under the banner of Salman Khan Films.
