Namit Malhotra invested Rs 4,000 crores on Ramayana movies; no cap on budget yet
Producer Namit Malhotra has revealed that he has invested Rs 4,000 crores on Ramayana movies. The shooting of part 1 is almost over and he has not estimated the complete budget of the film.
Namit Malhotra is a business executive and founder of Indian visual and special effects company Prime Focus Limited. He is also the chief executive officer of its British-Indian subsidiary DNEG. He has also produced some movies like The Hurricane Heist (2018), Horizon Line (2020), Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva (2022), The Garfield Movie (2024).
Now Namit Malhotra is bankrolling the upcoming epic Ramayana: Part 1 and Part 2. He said that he has already invested Rs 4,000 crore on this movie. The shooting of Part 1 is almost completed. The film is scheduled for grand worldwide release by the end of the year.
Talking about budget and scale of Ramayana movies, Namit Malhotra said, “I have invested ₹4000 crores for the movie, the film scale & visuals were highly praised by the viewers. The shooting for part 1 is almost over now, when I started planning the film, we had a huge vision. Everyone, including the actor asked me if I have enough funds to pull it off.”

Namit Malhotra said that he has invested the complete amount on his own. He added, “I have finished the first film & have not borrowed a single rupee. I don’t know where the money is coming from, when people ask me how I pulled it off, even I don’t know. This is something else, it’s just happening on its own. This is not just a project or a business proportion.”
Namit Malhotra says that he is not worried about the budget. What matters him is the right product. He said, “People ask me what’s my final budget is going to be, I don’t know, I don’t check that every day, I see if we are making the right product. There should be no compromise anywhere”
