Narak Chaturdashi 2024: Make mixed pakodas on this Choti Diwali
Gram flour – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 tbsp (for crispiness)
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Potato – 1 medium cut into fine slices
Cabbage – 1 cup cut into small pieces
Capsicum – ½ cup, finely chopped
Spinach – ½ cup finely chopped
Green chilli – 2-3 finely chopped
Ginger – 1 tsp finely chopped
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp finely chopped
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Celery – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Oil – for frying
To prepare mixed pakodas, first of all add gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, celery and salt in a large mixing bowl. Now prepare a thick batter by adding water little by little so that the vegetables get coated well in the batter. Do not dilute the batter too much, otherwise the pakodas will not become crunchy.
After this, add chopped onion, potato, cabbage, capsicum, spinach, green chilli, ginger and coriander leaves to this solution and mix well. Coat the vegetables well in the batter. After this, heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
After the oil is hot, pick up the mixture little by little with the help of a spoon or hand and put it in the oil. Fry the pakodas on medium flame until they become golden and crisp. When the pakodas turn golden brown, take them out and keep them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Now serve them with green chutney or tomato ketchup. You can add vegetables of your choice to this recipe like brinjal, carrot or cabbage. You can sprinkle some chaat masala on the pakodas to enhance their taste.
