As Infosys declared its Q2 results along with its interim dividend, its founder Narayana Murthy & his whole family is going to receive a huge chunk of dividend.

Infosys reported a near 5 per cent rise in its second quarter net profit and raised revenue guidance for the year on broad-based recovery in demand particularly from its key financial industry clients.

The company issued an interim dividend of Rs 21 per equity share. The IT giant has set October 29, 2024 as the record date and November 8, 2024 as the dividend payout date.

N.R. Narayana Murthy who is Infosys founder owns 1,51,45,638 shares of the company; he can approximately earn Rs 31.81 crores after the dividend announcement.

Narayana Murthy Family dividend

Sudha Murty: Sudha Murty is the wife of Narayana Murthy; she is Rajya Sabha MP and an acclaimed author, she owns 3,45,50,626 shares in the IT giant; Sudha Murty can earn about Rs 72.56 crores from the dividend.

Akshata Murthy: Daughter of Narayan Murthy, she is a prominent businesswoman and the wife of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. She holds 3,89,57,096 shares in Infosys. Akshata Murty will earn around Rs 81.81 crore from the dividend announcement.

Rohan Murty: Son of Narayan Murthy, he holds the largest share of 6,08,12,892 shares can earn approximately Rs 127.71 crores from the dividend announcement which is highest payout among other family members.

Ekagraha Rohan Murty: Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the five-year-old grandson of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, already aIndia’s youngest millionaires after his grandfather gifted him 15 lakh Infosys shares. He holds 15,00,000 shares in Infosys. Ekagrah Rohan Murty may earn around Rs 3.15 crore from the dividend announcement.

Akshata Murty Dividend & Tax In UK

Akshata Murty could receive up to £7.5m following an increase in Infosys’ dividend. She is a daughter of Infosys founder Narayna Murthy, she may have to pay up to £3m to the UK Treasury after the Indian software company announced a 16.7% rise in its interim dividend this year, reported The Guardian.

Akshata Murty, whose stake in Infosys is valued at approximately £703 million, committed to paying UK taxes on her global income in 2022. Akshata has received over £50 million in dividends since 2020. In 2022-23, she received an estimated £13 million in dividends.

Akshata previously claimed non-domicile status, which allows wealthy individuals to pay UK tax only on money they earn in the UK. She renounced that status in 2022 and declared that she would pay UK tax on overseas income.

Infosys Share Price Fall

Shares of Infosys Ltd slumped 4.50 per cent on Friday morning after the company’s second quarter earnings failed to cheer investors. The stock tanked 4.50 per cent to Rs 1,880.80 on the BSE.

At the NSE, it dived 4.44 per cent to Rs 1,880.65. The stock was the biggest laggard among the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty firms. The company’s market valuation eroded by Rs 31,327.94 crore to Rs 7,86,437.37 crore during the morning trade.

Decline in the bellwether stock dragged the markets lower. The BSE benchmark tanked 570.45 points to 80,436.16 in early trade. The NSE Nifty slumped 178.3 points to 24,571.55.
