Two foreign made pistols recovered from a narco terrorist in J&K’s Rajouri districtJ&K Police

The recovery of two foreign-made pistols from a local youth in Nowshera has lent credence to reports that Pakistan-based terrorists are using drug traffickers to supply arms to militants active in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, a joint patrolling party of Rajouri Police and the Army arrested Sachin Kumar alias Pamma, a resident of Sehar village near the Line of Control (LoC), from Raipur village.

Two pistols — one made in Turkey and another in China — were recovered from his possession, along with four magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition. A case has been registered against Kumar, and further investigation is underway.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the accused had allegedly received the consignment from across the border and was tasked with delivering it to another person when he was intercepted by the patrolling party.

“Based on specific intelligence input, Rajouri Police, in a joint operation with the Army’s 54 Rashtriya Rifles (Romeo Force), arrested an individual identified as Sachin Kumar alias Pamma, a resident of Sehar, Nowshera,” police said in an official statement.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was in direct contact with a Pakistan-based cross-border narco-terror operative,” the statement added.

One Turkey-made TISAS Zigana 9mm pistol with three magazines, one Chinese .30 bore TT-30 Norinco pistol with one magazine, and 15 live 9mm rounds were recovered from his possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 37/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Nowshera. Investigation is underway.

Infiltration attempt foiled on LoC

An attempted infiltration by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri was successfully foiled by alert Indian Army troops on Thursday.

According to a defence spokesperson, based on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, troops detected suspicious movement in the Nathua Tibba area of the Sunderbani sector along the LoC during the early hours.

The Army responded with precise and controlled fire, thwarting the infiltration attempt.

“Troops were suitably repositioned and re-oriented to ensure comprehensive control of the area through integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A high state of operational alert continues across the sector,” the Jammu-based White Knight Corps said in a post on X.

Officials said a search operation was launched immediately after the incident and was ongoing at the time of the latest reports.
