Narendra Modi Ethiopia Award: Seal of historical honor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global leadership has received another international recognition. The Government of Ethiopia (Narendra Modi Ethiopia Award) has decorated him with his country’s highest civilian honour, ‘The Great Honor Mark of Ethiopia’. recipients of this honor PM Modi Has become the world’s first global leader. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali presented this honor in a special ceremony organized at the International Conference Center in Addis Ababa.
Receiving the honour, Prime Minister Modi said that this moment is unforgettable for him. Dedicating this achievement to the 140 crore citizens of India, he said that it is a matter of both pride and humility for him to receive honor from one of the most ancient civilizations of the world.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this honor has been conferred for strengthening India-Ethiopia partnership, India’s role on global forums and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. PM Modi lauded the leadership of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and praised his efforts for national unity, stability and inclusive development.
India-Ethiopia: From ancient relations to modern partnership
Prime Minister Modi said in his address that there has been contact, dialogue and cultural exchange between India and Ethiopia for thousands of years (Narendra Modi Ethiopia Award). Both the countries, full of languages, traditions and diversity, are strong examples of ‘unity in diversity’. He said that both the nations are important partners of the Global South and have always stood shoulder to shoulder at international forums.
Jordan Travel: A New Lesson in Strategy, Business and Trust
Before reaching Ethiopia, Prime Minister Modi visited Jordan, an important partner of West Asia. This was the first complete bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister after 37 years. Cooperation against terrorism, Gaza crisis, regional peace and economic partnership were discussed in detail in the high-level talks between PM Modi and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
Both countries set a target of doubling bilateral trade to five billion dollars in the next five years. Currently, India is the third largest trading partner of Jordan (Narendra Modi Ethiopia Award) and the trade between the two countries is expected to reach $2.8 billion in the year 2024.
After the talks, five important agreements related to clean energy, water management, digital innovation, culture and technical cooperation were signed. Agreement was also reached on renewable and nuclear energy cooperation. Apart from this, an agreement was also signed on cultural cooperation between the historical Petra of Jordan and the Ellora caves of India.
Message to industrialists: Jordan becomes regional hub
PM Modi and King Abdullah II jointly addressed the industry. PM Modi said that the relationship between India and Jordan is a unique confluence of history, trust and future economic possibilities. He invited Jordanian companies to invest in the fast-growing Indian economy and offered to share agricultural technology.
‘Car Diplomacy’ again caught the world’s attention
Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Car Diplomacy’ once again became a topic of discussion during this tour. In Jordan, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II himself drove PM Modi to the museum and then to the airport. Whereas in Ethiopia, Prime Minister Abi Ahmed Ali himself reached the airport and drove PM Modi’s car to the hotel. This scene became a symbol of mutual trust and warmth between the two countries.
Green carpet welcome in Ethiopia
Prime Minister Modi was given a green carpet welcome upon reaching Ethiopia. While going to the hotel, PM Abi Ahmed also showed him the Science Museum and Friendship Park. Different varieties of Ethiopian coffee were also discussed during the informal conversation, as Ethiopia is considered the birthplace of coffee.
In the last leg of this three-nation visit, Prime Minister Modi will now leave for Oman, where the focus will be on further strengthening India-Gulf cooperation.
