‘Narendra Modi surrendered and gas cylinder disappeared’, AAP MLAs protest against LPG shortage across the country
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs demonstrated strongly outside the Assembly on the third day of the budget session as the suspension was not reversed and targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. On Tuesday, the MLAs raised the issue of Palam fire incident and put the Rekha Gupta government in the dock. At the same time, on Wednesday, he made a scathing attack on the shortage of gas cylinders, terming the foreign policy of the Narendra Modi government as a failure. The MLAs allege that the government is shirking its responsibilities instead of paying attention to serious issues related to the public, against which this protest will continue.
Under the leadership of Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs took out a foot march over the shortage of gas cylinders. During this, the MLAs held pamphlets in their hands and raised slogans like ‘Narendra Modi surrendered, gas cylinder disappeared’. During the demonstration, Atishi targeted Narendra Modi and alleged that he has surrendered to former US President Donald Trump, due to which the people of the country are suffering the consequences. He claimed that there is a shortage of gas cylinders across the country including Delhi and people are forced to stand in long queues for it.
AAP’s sharp attack on BJP on gas cylinder shortage
During the demonstration, Leader of Opposition Atishi made a scathing attack on Narendra Modi. He said that the Prime Minister often talks about ’56 inch chest’, but now he has surrendered before America and Donald Trump. According to Atishi, the people of the country are bearing the brunt of this and people have to stand in long queues for gas cylinders. Atishi sarcastically said that people are now asking where is the Prime Minister with a ’56 inch chest’ and why is the general public getting worried.
He also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that in the Delhi Assembly, BJP had promised to provide free gas cylinders on Holi and Diwali, but now the situation is such that cylinders are not available. “If you make the cylinder disappear, everything will automatically become free,” he said sarcastically. Along with this, Atishi termed the Central Government as a complete failure and said that Prime Minister Modi has surrendered before America. At the same time, he also targeted Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and alleged that despite the huge budget, even the fire department could not get adequate resources.
Questions on electricity, water and health services also
Leader of Opposition Atishi launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government regarding the problems of the common people in the capital. He said that the common people of Delhi are upset with the BJP government. According to Atishi, a common family needs electricity, but there are power cuts; Water is needed, but it is coming dirty; Roads are broken; Police are not able to provide adequate security; And essential medicines are not available in hospitals. Also, gas cylinder is required for cooking, for which people have to stand in long queues for days.
He said, “The BJP government is a complete failure and because of this failure, it is not allowing our MLAs to go inside the Assembly. They fear that if the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs go inside and raise their voice, they will be exposed. But we will continue to expose them on the streets of Delhi.”
Leader of Opposition Atishi made a sharp satire about the plans and budget of Delhi government in the capital. He said that even in the budget presented on Tuesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had mentioned about giving free gas cylinders on Diwali and Holi. Atishi said, “Now everything has become completely free and no one is spending money for the cylinder. People are buying induction and wood, marriages are taking place, even there the cylinder has become free. When the cylinder is not available then the expenditure has ended. Similarly, BJP people will also make electricity and water free, because everything will stop being available.”
Leader of Opposition Atishi made a strong attack on the budget presented on Tuesday and the policies of the Delhi government. He said that in the budget, it has been said that Rs 2,500 will be given to women, but this promise is limited to papers only and the money has not come into anyone’s account. Atishi reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised before February 8 that by March 8, 2025, Rs 2,500 will be credited to the account of every woman in Delhi. But leave aside March 8, 2025, this amount did not reach any woman’s account even till March 8, 2026.
He said that now women are also facing problems in free bus travel. There are problems in distribution of pink cards, mohalla clinics where free treatment was available have been closed. Furthermore, medicines are not available in hospitals and the water supply is dirty. According to Atishi, all these failures are having a serious impact on the lives of the general public, especially women, and it is necessary to highlight them on a public platform.
Leader of Opposition Atishi launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that they should not have the misconception that Aam Aadmi Party MLAs can suppress their voice by keeping them out of the Assembly. Atishi said, “We are Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal. Inside the House and on the streets, we will continue to raise our voice for the rights of the people of Delhi. They even put our leaders in jail, yet we could not be intimidated or silenced.” Referring to the death of nine people of a family in Delhi, he said that the BJP government remained silent on this too, but the people of Delhi will answer for it. Atishi said, “They fraudulently formed the government after 27 years, now their government will not be formed for 100 years.”
Sanjeev Jha targeted the central government
AAP MLA Sanjay Jha launched a scathing attack on the Centre’s policies during the continuous protests in the capital. He said that there is devastation in the entire country and people are not getting gas cylinders. According to Sanjay Jha, “Today, the only mistake of the people of the country is that they elected Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. Due to the Prime Minister’s wrong diplomacy, wrong policies and surrender to America and Donald Trump, people are not getting gas. People are standing in long queues in the hot sun, wandering, but are not getting the cylinders.” He further said that the situation for the workers is worse than during the Corona epidemic, but the central government is not paying attention to it and is ignoring the problems of the people.
AAP MLA Sanjay Jha launched a scathing attack on the BJP government and cabinet in the Delhi Assembly. He said, “The government and the cabinet are eating kheer, but the people of Delhi do not even have a gas cylinder to cook the kheer. We are not being allowed inside the House to raise the issues. If the government does not allow us to raise the issues of Delhi and the country in the House, then we will raise them on the streets.” Sanjay Jha said that on the very first day of the session, Leader of Opposition Atishi had requested the Speaker to revoke the suspension of the four party MLAs, but their suspension has not been revoked yet. “This is the first time in the country that the MLAs were not only expelled from the House but also thrown out of the entire premises and also removed from the WhatsApp group of 70 MLAs,” he said.
The MLA also made serious allegations against the Speaker. He said that it is the responsibility of the Speaker to run the House, but he never called both the opposition and the parties and reached a consensus. Instead the Speaker is misbehaving with the opposition leaders, humiliating them and suppressing the voice of the people of Delhi. Sanjeev Jha warned that he would not enter the House until the suspension was reversed.
Government is avoiding discussion on public issues – Kuldeep Kumar
AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar said on Thursday that the general public in Delhi is facing serious problems. He said that on the occasion of Ram Navami, people have to organize bhandaras and cook fast food at home, but gas cylinders are not available. “In Delhi, cylinders are available for Rs 5-6 thousand and people are crying foul,” he said.
The MLA said that the Assembly House was built to discuss the issues of two crore Delhiites, but the BJP government is not allowing people’s issues to be discussed there. Referring to the Palam accident, he said that nine people died due to government negligence, but the government is running away from discussing this too. Kuldeep Kumar alleged that BJP is only focusing on ousting the MLAs from the House, whereas the public will be benefited by discussing problems like sewer, electricity, water and gas cylinders. He said, “The BJP government should discuss the gas shortage and black marketing.”
AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar launched a scathing attack on the BJP government in Delhi. He said, “BJP formed the government in Delhi by doing CAG-CAG, but the answer to this was not given by the Aam Aadmi Party, but by the court. The court did not even consider their CBI chargesheet worthy of trial and rejected it. If BJP wants a certificate of honesty of Arvind Kejriwal, then take it not from the CAG but from the court.”
Kuldeep Kumar cautioned the Central and State Governments that now they should discuss the problems of gas shortage and LPG cylinders. He also raised questions on the budget of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and said, “The government’s budget is empty and hollow. There is nothing in the interest of the public in it. What is the use of the Chief Minister’s budget of Rs 1 lakh crore, when the fire department does not even have a ladder to save the lives of nine people. Shame on such a government.”
