Nariyal Ke Laddu: Soft and melt-in-the-mouth Coconut Laddu Recipe

Coconut Laddu: it It is a traditional Indian sweet which is made on almost every festival and special occasion, its taste is sweet, aromatic and very delicious. Ingredients for making Nariyal Ke Laddu

  • 2 cups grated coconut (dry or fresh)
  • 1 cup condensed milk or ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup milk (if using sugar)
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 spoon ghee
  • some dry coconut for garnishing

Method of preparation

  • First of all, place a pan on gas and add 1 teaspoon ghee in it.
  • When the ghee becomes slightly hot, add grated coconut to it.
  • Lightly fry the coconut on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Take care that the color of the coconut does not change much.
  • If you are using condensed milk then add it to coconut and mix well.
  • Keep stirring continuously on low flame until the mixture becomes thick.
  • If you are using sugar and milk, add milk and sugar to the coconut.
  • Cook the mixture until it thickens and starts leaving the pan.
  • Now add cardamom powder to it and mix well.
  • Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down a bit.

  • When the mixture remains slightly warm, apply some ghee on your hands.
  • Take a little mixture and make round shaped laddus.
  • If you want, you can wrap the laddus in dry coconut, this enhances their taste even more.

important tips

  • The mixture should not be too dry, otherwise laddus will not be formed.
  • Do not keep it too wet, otherwise the shape of the laddu may get spoiled.
  • fresh Coconut Laddus become more delicious.
  • These can be kept safe for 4-5 days by keeping them in an airtight container.
