The SP candidate in the by-election from Sisamau assembly seat of Kanpur, who belongs to the Muslim community, reached the famous Shiva temple Vankhandeshwar in Kanpur and offered prayers on the night of Diwali. But all the Muslim organizations of the state expressed their displeasure over this and issued a fatwa to apologize after reading the Kalma.
Naseem Solanki is the wife of former MLA Irfan Solanki and Samajwadi Party has fielded its candidate in the by-election from Sisamau seat. Meanwhile, on the night of Diwali, Naseem Solanki reached Vankhandeshwar temple during the election campaign. And performed Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva and lit the lamp. Meanwhile, a fatwa has been issued against SP candidate Naseem Solanki for visiting the temple.
Mufti Shahabuddin Rizvi Barelvi has issued a fatwa in which he has described this act of Naseem Solanki as contrary to Islamic beliefs. Shahabuddin Rajavi Barelvi said that the SP candidate went to worship in the Shiv temple, for this she should recite Kalma and apologize publicly.
Here in Kanpur, Bharatiya Janata Party's Govind Nagar MLA Surendra Maithani has termed Naseem Solanki's Jalabhishek in Vankhandeshwar temple as a hypocrisy and has said that whatever he does, only Bharatiya Janata Party will win in the by-election of Sisamau assembly seat. Naseem Solanki is the wife of former MLA Irfan Solanki and she is in jail due to Irfan Solanki being sentenced in a case. For the same reason, by-election is being held on Sisamau assembly seat.
