According to reports, this information has been given in a statement issued by NATO spokesperson. The spokesperson said that on April 8, Rutte will hold talks with Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Minister Pete Hegseth.

The visit also includes a public event on April 9, where Rutte is expected to deliver a speech and participate in a discussion hosted by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.

The visit comes at a crucial time for the Trans-Atlantic Alliance, as tensions have increased following Trump’s recent criticism amid the conflict involving Iran.

President Trump has indicated that he is considering withdrawing from the alliance; He has cited the disappointing support received from European partners towards his military campaign as the reason behind this. In particular, the US leader has strongly criticized member states for restricting access to military bases on their soil, and for their reluctance to lead operations aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
