If you also want to make something special to please your mother today, then ‘Banana Halwa’ is a great option. It is not only pure and satvik, but is also a great source of energy during fasting. Let us know the step-by-step recipe to make it. Essential Ingredients: Ripe bananas: 4-5 (well mashed) Pure desi ghee: 3-4 tablespoons Sugar or jaggery powder: half cup (as per taste) Cardamom powder: half teaspoon Finely chopped nuts: cashews, almonds and pistachios (2 teaspoons) Saffron threads: a pinch (soaked in milk – Optional Easy Recipe: Prepare the bananas: First of all, peel the ripe bananas, take them out in a bowl and mash them well with the help of a fork. Keep in mind that there should not be any big pieces in it. Heat ghee: Add desi ghee in a heavy bottomed pan. When the ghee melts, add finely chopped nuts to it and fry them until they become light golden and take them out in a plate. Fry the bananas: Now add the mashed bananas in the same remaining ghee. Stir it on medium flame until the color of the bananas turns light brown and the ghee starts separating from the sides. Add sweetness: When the bananas are roasted well, add sugar or jaggery powder to it. Cook it until the sugar dissolves completely and the halwa starts leaving the pan. Enhance the taste: Finally add cardamom powder, saffron milk and roasted dry fruits and mix well. Cook for 1-2 more minutes and turn off the gas. The right way to offer it to Mother Goddess is to take out the hot banana halwa in a clean brass or silver vessel. Garnish with some more dry fruits on top and place a basil leaf and offer it to Mother Skandamata. After the puja, distribute this prasad among all the family members. This halwa is as delicious to eat as it is equally nutritious for health.
