Nawazuddin Siddiqui raised questions on fake films, debate started in the industry

Mumbai: Famous Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has recently expressed his concerns about some films being made in the film industry. He said that the primary objective of cinema is to guide the society in a positive direction, but nowadays many such films are being made which are far away from reality. According to him, there is a possibility of misdirection in the thinking of the society due to stories that mislead the audience.

Responsibility of filmmakers

During an event, when Nawazuddin was asked whether it is the responsibility of filmmakers to take the society in the right direction, he clearly shared his views on this. He said that there is no need for the society to be taken in the wrong direction as truth is most important and today’s audience is quite aware in this matter. They understand what is the real truth behind what is being shown in the films.

Question of films based on true stories

When asked if films based on true stories were on the rise these days, he refuted the idea. Nawazuddin said that the films being made currently often have stories that do not match reality. He said that people know what is happening in the world and are well aware of the real truth.

During the programme, he also shared his views on topics like international issues and war. Nawazuddin said that in today’s era everyone keeps an eye on the events happening in the world. He said that the audience understands what is true and what is just a story being presented. His statement is being linked to the increasing political and controversial stories in cinema.

Although he did not name any particular film, his statement sparked discussions on social media. Many people believe that his statement may be targeting some recently released films. Some users say that this comment could be a satire on films like “Dhurandhar” and “Kerala Ki Kahani”. No clear comment has been made by the actor on this.
