Desk: Security forces have achieved a major success in Kandhamal district of Odisha. After Hidma, security forces have killed another big Naxalite commander. Four Naxalites, including Naxal commander and Central Committee member Ganesh Uike, have been killed by the security forces. Ganesh Uike was the head of the Odisha Naxal organization and the government had announced a reward of Rs 1.1 crore on him. According to Lis, this encounter took place on Thursday in the forests of Chakapad police station area. The current year 2025 is proving to be the most successful year so far in terms of Naxal eradication. After the encounter of Keshavrao alias Basavaraju in the month of June and the elimination of Hidma two months ago, now the security forces have got another big success.

Ganesh Uike was a member of the Central Committee of CPI (Maoist) and was considered to be the head of the banned organization in Odisha. A reward of Rs 1.1 crore was declared on his head. Ganesh Uike was 69 years old and was a resident of Pullemala village in Chendur mandal of Nalgonda district of Telangana. Ganesh Uike was known by many names like Pakka Hanumantu, Rajesh Tiwari, Chamru and Rupa. The remaining three Maoists, including two women. They have not been identified yet. Police say that further investigation is being done in the area.

Odisha Police said that based on information received from the Special Intelligence Wing, a joint operation of 23 teams (20 SOG, 2 CRPF, 1 BSF) was launched in Chakpad police station area of Kandhamal district and Rambha forest range in the border areas of Ganjam district. There were several firings today. After a search of the area, bodies of 4 Maoists in uniform (2 men and 2 women) were recovered, along with 2 INSAS rifles and a rifle. One of the slain Maoists has been identified as Ganesh Uike, who was a Central Committee member and chief of the Naxalite organization in Odisha. The remaining three are yet to be identified.
