IND W vs SL W 2nd T20: Shafali Verma’s stormy fifty stunned Sri Lanka, India won the match by 7 wickets

Indian Women’s Team vs Sri Lanka Women’s: The second match of the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka women’s team was played in Visakhapatnam, in which Team India performed strongly and won by 7 wickets. India has now taken a strong 2-0 lead in this five-match series. Batting first in this match, Sri Lankan team could score only 128 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Indian team achieved the target in just 11.5 overs at the loss of 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka’s innings faltered, no big innings

Sri Lanka, who came to bat first, had a very bad start. Kranti Gaur gave India its first success by dismissing Vishmi Gunaratne for just 1 run in the very first over. After this, Sri Lanka got the second blow at the score of 38 runs, when Sneh Rana sent captain Chamari Atapattu to the pavilion. Atapattu scored 31 runs in 24 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.

Hasini Perera and Harshita Samarawickrama tried to handle the innings by making a partnership of 44 runs for the third wicket. Hasini Perera scored 22 runs, while Harshitha Samarawickrama scored 33 runs in 32 balls with the help of four fours. However, she ran out and returned to the pavilion. The Sri Lankan team lost three wickets in the last over, due to which the score could not increase much.

Strong performance by Indian bowlers

The Indian bowlers maintained excellent line and length throughout the match. Sri Lanka could never get into the rhythm due to initial setbacks and continuous fall of wickets. Sneh Rana and Kranti Gaur maintained the pressure by taking wickets at important moments, due to which India got the benefit.

Shafali Verma’s match winning fifty

The start of the Indian team chasing the target was also not special. Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring 14 runs in 11 balls and the team got its first blow at 29 runs. After this, Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues made a partnership of 58 runs for the second wicket. Jemimah scored 26 runs in 15 balls with the help of four fours.

After this, Shafali Verma along with captain Harmanpreet Kaur turned the match completely in India’s favor. Shafali batted aggressively and scored a brilliant half-century by scoring unbeaten 69 runs in 34 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 10 runs in 12 balls.
