Meanwhile, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Response Force (ODRAF) have started rescue operations by removing uprooted trees from roadsides in the coastal districts of Odisha, an official said.

The storm will continue to knock for the next one to two hours. This system will move north-westwards through North Odisha. The storm will hit by Friday afternoon. After this it weakens and becomes a cyclonic storm. Its trends are being continuously monitored.”

In such a situation, Bhatrak Mattatu in-charge and State Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said, “There is no information about any casualty yet. Electric poles have been damaged to a great extent due to falling trees. Road blockages are being removed. Despite heavy rains, NTRF and ODRAF have started their rescue operation in Tamra area of ​​Patrak district. He said.

“There is no major damage except uprooting of trees and damage to some thatched houses in Pidarganika,” said Ajay Mohanty, in-charge of Rajnagar tehsil of Kendrapara district. The wind speed reduced to 80 to 90 km per hour. However, it is raining continuously in that area. Due to high waves on Thursday night, some reservoirs and low-lying areas were filled with rain water. He said.

In the last 6 hours, maximum rainfall of 131.6 mm was recorded in Chandapali of Bhatrak. Officials said that after this, 42.8 mm rainfall was recorded in Balasore. During Cyclone Dana, wind speed suddenly increased to 100 to 110 km per hour in Odisha's coastal districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore and adjoining Jagatsinghpur. It rained heavily.

In this matter, Chief Minister Mohan Saran has held a consultation meeting with senior government officials regarding relief and rescue work after the storm. He discussed details of the damage caused and rescue and relief operations after the storm crossed the coast with officials at Rajiv Bhawan this morning.

Holiday has been declared in educational institutions today in the cyclone affected areas of Odisha. Air traffic services resumed at Odisha's Biju Patnaik International Airport at 8 am as the storm crossed the coast. Indian Railways has also canceled more than 20 trains due to the storm.
