Neeraj Chopra Competes in Javelin at Commonwealth Games 2026

Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra is set to compete in the men’s javelin throw qualification at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Thursday, aiming to secure a place in the final and maintain India’s strong athletics performance. The Games, taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, will also see India start its campaign in track cycling as competitions in athletics, weightlifting, and lawn bowls continue.

Tejaswin Shankar is scheduled to begin his decathlon campaign, though his participation is uncertain due to a knee injury sustained during the men’s high jump final on Monday.

In weightlifting, Martina Devi Maibam will compete in the women’s 86+kg category, while Lovepreet Singh will participate in the men’s 110+kg event, both aspiring to add to India’s medal tally. Indian cyclists Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam and David Beckham Elkatohchoongo will represent the country in the track cycling events.
