Under the new system, it will now be mandatory for candidates to upload a live photo from their mobile or computer camera while submitting their application form. This change is being implemented as per the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan Committee set up by the Central Government and this will allow immediate identification of the difference between the identity of both the applying student and the candidate appearing for the actual examination.
A pilot test of ‘Aadhaar-based facial recognition’ was conducted at select centers in Delhi during the NEET 2025 examination. As this experiment has been completely successful, the decision to implement this technique at all centers in the country from 2026 is in the final stage.
