NEET UG 2025 scores valid for BDS and veterinary courses, NTA clarifies

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice regarding the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 exam. It has clarified that the NEET UG 2025 scores and merit list will also be applicable for admission to Bachelor of Dental Studies (BDS) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) courses, in addition to the previously announced courses.

The Agency had earlier announced that it would use NEET UG 2025 scores for admission to undergraduate courses such as BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS. The NTA has advised candidates who wish to appear for the medical entrance exam should refer to the detailed NEET UG 2025 information bulletin available on the official website www.neet. nta.nic.in. It also indicated that the NEET UG 2025 application form will be available in due course.

The official notice reads, “In continuation to the Public Notice dated 16 January 2025 on the mode of conduct of NEET (UG)-2025, it is clarified that in addition to the courses mentioned in the Public Notice dated 16 January 2025, NEET (UG)-2025 scores and merit list will also apply for admissions to BDS and BVSc & AH courses as followed in the past in accordance with the rules governed by respective regulatory bodies.”

NEET UG 2025 to be held in offline mode

In the wake of last year’s NEET UG paper leak, the NTA has decided to continue the entrance exam in pen and paper format on a single day and in a single shift. The decision was taken after detailed discussions between the education and health ministries on whether NEET UG should be conducted in online or offline mode.

The idea of conducting NEET UG in online mode is not new and has been discussed many times in the past. However, the preference for computer-based test came after the paper leak controversy last year.
