More than 45 people detained so far in paper leak case

Meanwhile, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has so far detained more than 45 people in the NEET paper leak case. Raids and inquiries are going on in many states in the case. Till Monday, 13 suspects were detained in this case.

22 lakh students took part in NEET

This time around 22 lakh students had participated in NEET-UG. Now the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police is working on two big angles in the investigation of the paper leak case. First, the paper may have leaked during the printing of the exam question paper and the printing in the press. Secondly, the investigating agencies suspect that the question paper may have been leaked by someone associated with setting the paper. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Central Government has handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI.

How the leak controversy came out of a guess paper?

It is noteworthy that this time the controversy is related to the alleged guess paper, regarding which questions were being raised on the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is claimed that before the examination, such a guess paper had reached the students, in which about 600 out of 720 questions were matching exactly with the real examination. This claim that came out after NEET UG had increased the concern of lakhs of students and parents.

Exactly 150 questions of 600 marks were included in the paper!

Rajasthan SOG’s investigation has revealed that there were about 410 questions in the guess paper. It is being claimed that about 150 of these questions, which were of total 600 marks, were asked exactly in the NEET UG 2026 paper. NEET UG exam is of total 720 marks and each question is of four marks, hence getting questions at such a high level is considered very serious. According to sources related to the investigation, the link of the so-called ‘Question Bank’ is being linked to a young man, who is currently studying MBBS in a medical college in Kerala.
