Meanwhile, recently Neetu Kapoor remembered the same difficult period of her life and told how she was mentally and emotionally broken after the death of her husband. She revealed that after Rishi Kapoor’s departure, she was not able to sleep properly for several months and gradually got addicted to alcohol.

Neetu Kapoor was heartbroken after Rishi Kapoor’s death

While talking to Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Neetu Kapoor openly expressed her heartache. He told that when Rishi Kapoor died in 2020, his life had completely changed. Neetu Kapoor said that at that time people were constantly advising her to take therapy, but initially she did not believe in it. She said, “When Rishi ji left, people told me to go to a therapist. I was very broken. I told the therapist, what will I do after doing all this? Unless I become strong myself, even therapy can’t do anything.” He further said that a person first has to decide to become strong from within, only then he can come out of any pain.

Didn’t sleep for several months

Recalling that difficult period, Neetu Kapoor said that after the death of her husband, her condition had become so bad that she could not sleep properly for one or two months continuously. She said, “When my husband passed away, I couldn’t sleep for months. I felt so anxious and nervous that I just wanted to close my eyes and mind and go to sleep.” Neetu Kapoor told that gradually she got into the habit of drinking alcohol at night, because without drinking she could not sleep. The actress said, “I had developed a habit of drinking. I could not sleep without drinking. But I have always been a person who takes great care of my health, so I was scared to see myself in that condition.”

Came out of that phase with the help of doctor

Neetu Kapoor told that when she realized that she was becoming mentally and physically weak, then she decided to seek help from a doctor. She said, “I called my doctor and said I needed help. I am not liking this phase. I am not made for this life.” After this the doctor made her meet a senior gynecologist. Neetu Kapoor told that that doctor used to come to her house every night for about 10 days and give her sleeping injection, so that she could sleep peacefully for some time.

He told, “She used to come to my house around 11 o’clock at night and give me sleep injections. Then she used to sit there till I fell asleep completely. This continued for about 10 days and then gradually my condition started getting better.”

Trolling also hurt

During this conversation, Neetu Kapoor also told that after the death of her husband, she had to face a lot of trolling on social media.
She said that when she started working again, some people targeted her by saying that “after her husband left, she got busy in acting.” Neetu Kapoor admitted that such things hurt her deeply, because people comment without understanding the pain and situation of a person.
