Both Neha Kakkar and her brother Tony Kakkar are facing criticism regarding a particular dance step of the song.

Neha Kakkar has composed this song with her brother Tony Kakkar. Both are seen in this music video and the voice for the song has also been given by Neha and Tony. Tony Kakkar has taken over the responsibility of music, lyrics and production. However, soon after its release, the content of the song seemed to irritate social media users.

Dance step became the cause of controversy

Objections are being raised on social media regarding a dance move shown in ‘Candy Shop’. Users say that this step is objectionable and not suitable for family audiences. For this reason both Neha and Tony are being trolled.

One user shared the post and wrote, ‘What was the compulsion of Neha Kakkar that she had to do such an obscene dance step in the song. Her career started by singing bhajans and today she has crossed the extreme limits of obscenity. This is not just a dance step of theirs but a mockery of our culture. Now people making reels of their dance steps will take it to every home. And these are the same people who call Bhojpuri vulgar. Some users advised Neha Kakkar to feel ashamed for doing such dance steps, while some called it just a publicity stunt.

Accusation of copying Korean style

Many social media users have also claimed that the dance step of the song is an imitation of Korean Pop (K-Pop) style. People say that there is no need for such copying in the Indian music industry and artists should show originality.

Famous singer Malini Awasthi objected to this and wrote, ‘Sony TV should answer why Neha Kakkar was imposed as the judge of Indian Idol for so many years!! You are showcasing young innocent talent on your channel and any reality show judge should be a role model for them!! Neha Kakkar and her absolutely disgraceful cheap actions are condemnable!’
