Neither Rahul Gandhi nor his descendants able to restore Article 370: Amit Shah News In Hindi: Union Minister Amit Shah strongly attacked the opposition at an election rally in Sangli, Maharashtra on Friday, saying that neither Congress leader Rahul Gandhi nor His fourth generation will be able to bring back Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution demanding talks with the Center and elected representatives to restore the special status of the erstwhile state. Many political parties in the valley appreciated the move but the main opposition party BJP opposed it and demanded its withdrawal.
On August 5, 2019, the provision giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir was abolished and it was divided into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Addressing a rally in Sangli for Mahayuti (ruling alliance) candidates Sudhir Gadgil and Sanjay Kaka Patil, the Union minister said the Congress is supporting the ruling NC in Jammu and Kashmir in this endeavour.
The senior BJP leader said, “From the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, I, Rahul Baba, am telling you that neither you nor your fourth generation will be able to restore Article 370. Every child of the country is ready to fight for Kashmir.
Shah said, “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi had decided to remove Article 370, I had brought the bill (in Parliament), but Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and (MK) Stalin had brought this bill.” The move was opposed. He had said that Article 370 should not be removed because it would lead to bloodshed in the valley. Leave alone rivers of blood flowing, no one even dared to throw stones.
Shah said terrorist attacks were frequent during the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, but after Modi became Prime Minister, 'surgical strikes' were carried out in response to the Uri and Pulwama incidents, which helped Pakistan The terrorists were eliminated. He said that due to the efforts of Modi, a grand Ram temple was built in Ayodhya which Congress was stopping for the last 70 years.
“After Modi came to power, within five years the court verdict came, the foundation stone of the temple was laid, it was constructed and the consecration ceremony took place,” he said.
Shah hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for displaying a copy of the Constitution at his rallies to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying the Constitution is not an election agenda.
He said, “Constitution means trust but these people (Congress) are asking for votes in the name of the Constitution and are bluffing. Copies of the Constitution were distributed in an election rally today. The cover of the book was fine but the pages inside were blank. Not a single word was printed on it. Gandhi has insulted the Constitution, insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar and the people of India.
Shah said Gandhi should tell people whether the copy of the Constitution he held in his hand while taking oath as an MP in Parliament was real or fake.
Shah said, “Gandhi had recently said that the country does not need reservation but as long as the Modi government is in power, no one has the courage to touch the Constitution. Reservation for SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe) and OBC (Other Backward Class) will remain the same as it has always been. Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23. (pti)
