Nepal Earthquake: Earthquake of 4.8 magnitude occurred in Nepal, Earth trembled in Pithoragarh and Champawat districts of Uttarakhand.

New Delhi: Once again strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Nepal. These tremors were felt in the early hours of Saturday. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 4.8 on the Richter scale. These earthquake tremors were felt in Nepal at 3.59 am Indian time. As soon as the tremors of the earthquake were felt, people came out of their homes in many areas. However, there is no news of loss of life or property so far in the earthquake that occurred on Saturday morning.

The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be in Jumla, Nepal. The intensity of the earthquake was 4.8 Richter and tremors were felt in Pithoragarh as well as Champawat and other districts. People ran out of their homes to save their lives in the bitter cold around Pithoragarh and Champawat.

According to the National Center for Seismology and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of this earthquake was at a depth of 10 km under the earth in Jumla district. However, most of the people were sleeping when the earthquake tremors were felt. Let us tell you that earthquake tremors occur frequently in Nepal. An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred here in November last year (2023). There was a lot of loss of life and property due to this earthquake. More than 150 people had died. There was massive devastation in Jarkot and Rukum districts of western Nepal. Many houses were destroyed while many others had cracks.
